Genti Korini

Genti Korini’s work investigates the interplay between aesthetics and ideology, examining their manifestations at the juxtaposition of modernity and modernism within the cultural and historical context of his native country, Albania.
His works are somehow positioned at the intersection between representation and abstraction, formalism and social commentary, art, architecture, and design.

The viewer, devoid of the immediate context of the works, is invited to explore the migration and reconfiguration of decontextualized forms and narratives, as symptoms of social and ideological transformations. Shifting between painting, sculpture, photography, and video, his subjects try to engage the public to experience beyond the surface level and consider the deeper conceptual, political, and social implications of the works.
